Today we went and saw the school I will be working at for the first time and I got to see my classroom! It is so cute, I am so excited to decorate it. We went over the curriculum I will be using and I love it. It is a lot of the same stuff I taught in the US and a lot of the books they use to teach English I am familiar with. This school teaches English using reading and writing and I love their style of teaching. It totally fits me as a teacher. They even told Chris he could fill in as a sub if they really needed one which is pretty funny haha. BUT totally cool for him!!! We also have two different prospects for tutoring which Chris might take up or I might take up in my spare time...or we might not do at all. We haven't decided yet. Anyways, I will be teaching level 2 and 3. It is basically like 2nd and 3rd grade but Taiwan does not group students the same way the US does. They group their students based on ability and not by age. They usually end up being around the same age but there will be one or two outliers. I really like that teaching style.
Every morning and night Chris puts 710 sports radio and the mens room through his phone and then connects his phone to our speaker. It is a fun little routine and lets us have a slice of home! Sometimes that means I can't talk though if something really important is being said about our hawks or Mariners ;) lol.
Now I am trying to convince Chris we need a scooter to ride around here!!!! The traffic here is insane but a scooter would be SO FUN and the wind would feel good since it's SO hot here. Now I am off to research scooters!
