Anyway, we went to the the southern part of Taiwan called Kenting. We took the high speed train down to Kaoshiung (the second biggest city after Taipei) then took a taxi ride to Kenting. It took a total of about 4 hours. We had an amazing time..the beaches, food, people, and night market was amazing! We kind of wish we lived there in a more relaxed beach atmosphere but it was a nice relaxing break from the busy and crowded city of Taipei! We went to two different beaches and each one had tons of water sports and surfing so the people watching was fun. The first day we didn't rent an umbrella and when we got back to the hotel we were sorry that we did not put more sun screen on throughout the day. The next day we were sure to rent an umbrella.
At night time, we would walk around the Kenting night market which was sooo much fun! Everything was in English, and they had fun shops with interesting and fun different things. We bought some tie dye clothing, strawberry beer, jewelry, and tried some oysters. Trying the oysters was actually Chris's idea so I was proud of him for being more adventurous with his food!!! lol We also saw literally the biggest shrimp we have ever seen. They were about about 6 inches long and 2 inches thick. They were about as big as a hot dog. We wanted to try them but it would be hard to eat that while walking.
We were sad to leave but I know we will be back! We left early this morning and I had to leave for work shortly after we arrived home. I was telling Chris that I was telling everyone we got home the day before but realized we actually came back this morning haha. It doesn't take that long to get there but you have to walk 10 min to the MRT, take the MRT to the train station, take the train to Kaoshuing, then hail a taxi.
